FACS Welcomes Jamaal Brown, Our New Tennis Coach!

We’re thrilled to welcome Coach Jamaal Brown (Coach JB) as the new tennis coach at FACS! With an outstanding record of achievements both on and off the court, Coach Brown brings a wealth of experience and a passion for developing student-athletes.

During his high school years, he was ranked as high as #4 in the state of Tennessee, won the TSSAA District City Championship, and represented the state at the Southern Regional Championships for two consecutive years.

His competitive career includes four junior and three adult tournament titles, along with a notable victory over a nationally ranked player in their first collegiate match. As Tennessee State University's #1 tennis player and MVP for three years, Coach JB was instrumental in leading the team to its first Conference Tournament and earned All-Conference honors twice.

In addition to his playing career, Coach JB has a strong background in coaching and mentorship. He served as TSU men’s assistant tennis coach and is part of the Tennis Association of Memphis Youth (TAMY), helping to grow the sport in inner-city areas that has gone on to produce five Division 1 college tennis athletes.

We’re excited for the energy, expertise, and vision Coach JB brings to FACS tennis. Join us in giving them a warm welcome and supporting our team this season!

For all parents and players interested in tennis this season, please join Coach JB for a Meet and Greet on January 23 at 6:30pm in the Jr. High Cafeteria.
