FACS Students Give Back.

FACS students joined the global mission of Operation Christmas Child, an annual project through Samaritan’s Purse, by packing and praying over more than 500 shoeboxes before heading into Thanksgiving Break. To celebrate, we hosted a special chapel filled with worship, fun games, and a powerful time of prayer for the boxes and the children who will receive them.

This year, we were honored to welcome Antonia James as our guest speaker. As a child, Antonia received an OCC box that deeply impacted her life. She shared her heartfelt story of how that simple gift planted seeds of hope, ultimately leading her to accept Jesus as her Savior. Hearing firsthand how a shoebox can spark transformation gave our students a greater understanding of the eternal impact of their efforts.

Now, these shoeboxes are on their way to children around the world. Once in the hands of local churches, each gift becomes a powerful tool for evangelism and discipleship—bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ to children and their families in life-changing ways.

Here’s how this small act of giving creates a ripple effect of faith:

  • Evangelism: Shoeboxes are distributed by local pastors or church leaders who share the Gospel in kid-friendly, engaging ways.

  • Discipleship: Along with their shoebox, children receive The Greatest Gift, a colorful presentation of the Gospel in their own language.

  • Multiplication: Boys and girls are invited to participate in The Greatest Journey, a 12-lesson discipleship program that helps them grow in their faith and equips them to share Jesus with others.

We’re so proud of our students for being the hands and feet of Jesus through this ministry. If you’d like to learn more about the journey of a shoebox and how it opens doors to share the Gospel worldwide, visit Operation Christmas Child's website.
