Exciting Times Ahead: Meet Our New Coaches for the 2024/2025 Season!

Updated: Apr 26

As we gear up for another thrilling season of athletics at FACS, we are delighted to share some exciting news with you all, our FACS Family. Our athletic program continues to grow and flourish, and this year is no exception, as we welcome aboard a talented roster of coaches who are poised to lead our student-athletes to new heights of success.

First, after an extensive and thorough search, we introduce to you Shelvie Rose, as our new Head Boys' Basketball Coach and Assistant Athletic Director. Coach Rose comes to us with an impressive track record both on and off the court, having previously coached at East High and Overton High, where he notably led Overton to a state title. His reputation precedes him as a man of great faith, character, and integrity, and we are honored to have him join the FACS family.

Additionally, we are excited to welcome Leila Bryant, former U of M Softball standout, as our Girls' Softball Coach for the upcoming season. Leila's impressive background in collegiate athletics, coupled with her dedication to mentoring young athletes, makes her a valuable addition to our coaching staff. She will also be contributing to Girls' Soccer, PE, and girls’ discipline, enriching our athletic program in multifaceted ways, including being a strong spiritual mentor for our female students. You may also recognize her last name as her husband, Charlie Bryant, along with his siblings, are all FACS alumni and their children will continue the legacy by joining Coach Bryant on campus in August.

We are also pleased to announce that Saul Arias, our esteemed Boys' Soccer Coach, will be expanding his role to oversee Girls' Soccer as well. Saul's leadership and commitment to excellence have been instrumental in shaping our boys' soccer program, and we are very confident that he will bring the same level of dedication to our girls' team.

As we embark on this new chapter in FACS Athletics, we invite you to join us in extending a warm welcome to Coach Rose, Coach Bryant, and Coach Arias. Together, we are poised for a season filled with spiritual and academic growth, camaraderie, and, of course, plenty of thrilling victories.

Here's to an unforgettable season ahead, Crusaders!
