Exciting News for FACS Athletics: Welcome Coach Matt Brooks

Updated: 6 days ago

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of a new coach to the FACS family. Join us in welcoming Matt Brooks. Coach Brooks brings experience, dedication, and passion for baseball, and we are excited about the bright future of our athletic program as a whole.

Matt Brooks, a Nashville native, has a distinguished background both as a player and a coach. A graduate of Pope John Paul II High School, Matt was a standout athlete, starting all four years and earning All-District honors three times. He continued his career at Hanover College, where he was a four-time First Team honoree and named D3 Freshman of the Year. His playing days also included Niagara Power in summer ball.

Matt's coaching career is equally impressive. He has served as an assistant coach at Christian Brothers University, Southwest TN Community College, and Collierville High School. Most recently, he was the Associate Head Coach at Northpoint Christian School. His teams have achieved much success, including three state championship tournament appearances, three seasons with 25+ wins, and multiple top-state rankings. Matt has also been instrumental in developing players, with multiple collegiate athletes signed to universities and numerous awards to his credit.

Beyond the field, Matt is a family man, married to Brittany, and a father to three children. His leadership, experience, and commitment to excellence will undoubtedly elevate our baseball program.

"We are extremely excited about all of the new coaches God has led to FACS. Coach Brooks and our other coaches bring a wealth of knowledge of their respective sports.  They will lead our student-athletes spiritually, academically, and athletically. Our athletics department continues to strive for excellence on the field and court." says FACS Athletic Director, Mitch McDaniel.

"Please join us in welcoming Matt Brooks to the FACS family. We are confident that his expertise and enthusiasm will inspire our student-athletes and lead our team to success.", Dr. Bryan Sanders
