Athletic Boosters

Athletic boosters help raise funds for equipment and furnishings, volunteer to cook and serve concessions, and host pre-season meetings to introduce coaches and players as well as end-of-season banquets to honor players and coaches for their achievements.

Time and again, parents say they volunteer their time, energy and talent because they recognize their children are experiencing a unique opportunity to participate in a God-honoring and family-oriented athletic program. As one parent put it: "One thing I love at this school is that teachers and coaches really care for the kids. I'm not saying that doesn't happen elsewhere, but we really notice it here."

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Green and Gold Game at 'Ole Miss May 24

The FACS Football Team will play a green and gold intra-squad scrimmage Saturday, May 24, at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on the campus of the University of Mississippi. All FACS students, parents, grandparents, faculty, staff, alumni and friends are invited to attend.

This is a great way to mark the end of the 2007-2008 school year.

Bring your own picnic to The Grove beginning at noon. The game begins at about 2 p.m. Admission is $5 and includes a barbecue dinner after the game (about 4 p.m.) in the South Zone Club. Please stop by the office, call 458-5543, or email mwhite@facsmemphis.org and let us know the number in your party who plan to attend, so that we can accurately plan for the dinner.

All-School Alumni Banquet June 21

Some of our Athletic Boosters are also alumni. Mark your calendars now, and don't miss the opportunity to get together with the finest alumni in the Mid-South. Our alumni club will host a banquet fit for Crusaders. Tickets are $10 per person. Doors open at 6:00; dinner is served at 6:30. Classes will sit together. To volunteer your service, call Coach Jim Spain at 901-603-5187. To reserve your seat(s) at the table, call the school office at 901-458-5543 and ask for Marilyn White, or email mwhite@facsmemphis.org.

Special thanks, as always, to Athletic Director Philip Spain for running an excellent program, to Fran Wilson, for taking over as Booster Club President, to Coach Jim Spain for his tireless efforts with activities, and to Amy Thibado, who is the new booster club secretary/treasurer.

Ronnie Clark continues to head up our concession program. Mr. Clark's service has earned FACS a reputation as having some of the best high school concessions in the Mid-South.
