Chapel is held weekly at FACS. Students in senior kindergarten through grade three participate in a non-denominational program that includes Bible stories, games and music. Janie Walker of Child Evangelism Fellowship conducts this enjoyable program.
Chapel activities for fourth through sixth graders center around character education. Under the direction of Elementary Chaplain Ashley Beers, students participate in games, skits and activities related to traits such as honesty, kindness and self-control.
Junior and senior high school students meet for weekly chapel directed by Chaplain Dan Lewiston, with worship led by the Chapel Worship Team, directed by Amy Lindberg. Guest speakers often share information on topics relevant to secondary students. Because more than 100 churches are represented at FACS, chapel programs are non-
denominational, centering on essential Christian doctrine.
A separate spiritual and physical health series for junior high students takes place during homeroom. This time is used to discuss important choices teens make in such areas as nutrition, sexual purity, and substance abuse ( nicotine, alcohol, and prescription and illegal drugs). These programs are conducted by Sharon Schaade and FACS nurse consultant Janet Adair. Parents are welcome to attend these homerooms if they so choose, and are asked to check in at the school office upon arrival.
