Students explore art early in elementary school with weekly lessons from instructor Lori Cook. Junior high students "survey" art as one of several elective courses from which they will choose in high school.

The high school art track begins with Art I, a comprehensive class covering a wide variety of media. Art II students complete between seven and 10 major projects in a school year. Art III and IV students work with instructor Barbara McDade to custom design their curricula according to their interests, strengths and weaknesses. Because Mrs. McDade requires that all subjects be original (as opposed to "copying" published photographs or the works of other artists), students often gain proficiency in photography while studying art at FACS.
