Capital Improvement Process Under Way

The FACS Board of Directors, the First Assembly of God Church Board, and the church body, have approved construction of a planned building addition on the current campus to accommodate recent student body growth and improve our fine arts capabilities.

Plans for the new building include additional classrooms (primarily for junior high use), a second gymnasium, an additional cafeteria, and expandable facilities for fine arts. The improvement is designed to better meet our need to educate the current student body (about 775 students).

“The (FACS) Board and the Administrative Team are in agreement that our unique identity as a school is, in part, related to our size,” said Wendell Meadows, Head of School. “While we may add some additional students, we do not anticipate growing the school beyond an enrollment of about 850." (Another 30 students are enrolled at our satellite preschool, The Cordova Learning Center.)

Currently, FACS is conducting a feasibility study to assess the possibility of a capital campaign. While a capital campaign soliciting voluntary contributions is likely, the Board has committed to meeting this specific need for additional facilities without raising tuition beyond the standard annual percentage increases required for operating expenses and to keep faculty salaries at appropriate levels.
